Cordance Presents Preclinical Data at the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound Symposium

Lyon, France – Cordance Medical is proud to announce its presentation at the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) conference on the pre-clinical safety validation of its NeuroAccess™ Focused Ultrasound Platform. The platform is designed to open the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in a non-invasive, patient-friendly, and community-accessible manner.

The NeuroAccess Platform consists of a high-frequency transducer for imaging, a low-frequency transducer array for therapy, and a wide-band transducer for safety monitoring. The platform was evaluated for its ability to open the BBB accurately and safely when combined with microbubbles in canines.

Results from the study demonstrate that the NeuroAccess Platform can accurately target and beamform low-frequency ultrasound to physician-select regions of interest and subsequently open the BBB when combined with microbubbles in a large animal model. Further testing in humans is planned to evaluate the safety and efficacy of liquid biopsy and drug delivery applications.
