Cordance Medical technology presented at the Society for Neuro-Oncology Annual Meeting

Cordance presents at Annual SNO meeting

Boston, Mass. – Cordance Medical, in collaboration with investigators at Pacific Neuroscience Institute and the Barrow Neurologic Institute, presented their abstract titled “Non-intrusive, non-invasive and patient-friendly focused ultrasound device as a delivery vehicle for CNS tumors” at the Society for Neuro-Oncology Annual Scientific Meeting.

The presentation described the ability of Cordance Medical’s device to open the blood-brain barrier (BBB) non-invasively with an emphasis on Cordance Medical’s proprietary guidance system.  The guidance of ultrasound energy to physician-directed targets within the brain utilizes a proprietary algorithm that accounts for personalized patient acoustic and physical properties.  Notably, this algorithm can guide energy to all major areas of the brain (brain-wide guidance).

“Enabling a guided non-invasive, safe, and effective BBB opening for applications including liquid biopsy and drug delivery represent a tremendous leap forward in technical innovation,” said Bhaskar Ramamurthy, Ph.D., lead author on the abstract and co-founder & CTO at Cordance Medical. “We look forward to using our device on patients to improve outcomes for patients.”
